Microverse The Journey Ahead

Jumping heads on into software development has been one of the best decisions I have made, but I must admit that it hasn’t been all fun and games. I used to dream of becoming a software developer, and I have tried a few times to learn on my own but I will always get stuck and stop to restart a few months later. Microverse has helped me equip myself to be able to resolve all types of roadblocks I come across, and I now look forward to these challenges. Throughout this journey, I have gained confidence in my problem-solving skills, and in myself, and I am happy to say that for every roadblock I come across, I end up leaving with a few more skills under my sleeve for the next roadblock.

When I first started Microvers, I was only able to build web pages using HTML and CSS, and only a few months later, I am capable of setting up a full-blown application using Ruby on Rails. To become a professional developer one must be able to have an environment that fits their needs, and that is where Visual studio and GitHub come into play. Understand GitHub is very vital especially because it allows you to save your work in a safe environment just in case your computer crashes. GitHub is also vital to mastering because it allows you to work in a team, and keep in mind that approximately 54,172 companies use GitHub.

Overall I am definitely proud of myself for joining Microvers, not only because it has helped me build character as a software developer, but also because this will open many doors in the next chapter in my life. Microvers is full of opportunities for those who aren’t scared of challenges. It is a fun environment where you will make friends with other students from all over the world, but it will also challenge you day after day. This is your life, your journey and I wish you all the best in regards to the next chapter you decide to take.
